This week, I’m doing something a little different. As you can see in the photo above I’m not in my usual domain, the kitchen! On top of being a chef, I’m also a great hostess (which I got from my momma, of course!) and I’ve been getting a lot of questions about party etiquette, hostessing, and manners from many of my friends. I decided a ‘Manners 101’ video would be the perfect thing to show you all before all of the big summer parties begin!
In our modern world, I’ve found more and more that the traditions of etiquette have been thrown out the window. When I go out to dinner, I see many people on their phones, ignoring their company. The words “please” and “thank you” are heard less frequently. Guests show up to dinner parties empty handed. It’s such a shame!
Personally, I think there’s nothing sexier than someone with good manners! Since the 4th of July is coming up, and we all could use a refresher course in hosting, etiquette, and party manners, I invited one of my favorite etiquette experts to chat about manners in the 21st century. You may know her as Countess Luann de Lesseps from the Real Housewives of New York! Not only is Luann the best hostess I know, she’s also an etiquette guru, showcased in her best-selling book Class with the Countess (buy it here!).
