Pamela and Jena

What’s a salad without a little vinaigrette? Last week, I introduced to you weight loss expert Jena la Flamme. She wrote an incredible book on pleasurable weight loss (get it here) We danced and chatted and made a gorgeous salad! If you missed it, click here to watch it, and here to get the recipe.

You watched it? Great! Now you have a new healthy and delectable salad in your cooking arsenal.

If you were to go to the grocery store and browse the aisle with all of the dressings, you would probably find most of them have the words ‘creamy’ in them, or boast that they are low-fat. This stuff is all gimmicks! They are all full of processed ingredients and chemicals that we simply do not need to put into our bodies. Homemade salad dressing is so much better for you, it is so easy to do and, honestly, tastes way better than any store-bought junk. There’s absolutely no excuse for you not to be making this at home.

There’s a really good chance you already have all the ingredients you need to make your own vinaigrette at home. All you need is a vinegar, an oil, some mustard and a little bit of salt and pepper. That’s it, I swear! The best part is making it in a mason jar, that way when you have some leftovers they can go right in the fridge. We used avocado oil because of the good fats and apple cider vinegar because it has anti-inflammatory properties and is also detoxifying. I love foods that are delicious and healthful!

Stay tuned for part three where Jena shares more of her weight loss wisdom!
